Emotional availability starts with understanding and managing our own emotions while
tuning in to the feelings of others. It’s a vital skill – often overlooked – that can reduce
conflict, safeguard your well-being, and deepen your connections. This workshop gently
guides you from reacting impulsively to life’s challenges toward responding with
awareness and intention. Through exploring and reshaping unconscious thought
patterns, you’ll free your mind to support healthier, more empowering ways of being –
opening the door to greater peace, joy, and authentic connection.

Affirmations & Cognitive Distortions: Reprogramming the Unconscious Mind

The opening session of Becoming Emotionally Available: A Guide to a Free and Healthy
Mind begins with affirmations, setting the tone for meaningful change. Since many of
our daily thoughts and words lean negative, this class introduces affirmations as a
foundation for reprogramming the unconscious mind, cultivating greater self-love,
compassion, and joy. At the same time, we explore the hidden power of our self-talk by
looking closely at cognitive distortions—the negative thought patterns that can block
emotional availability. Each distortion becomes an opportunity for growth as we learn to
recognize unhelpful thinking, challenge it, and reshape it into affirmations that are
positive, healthy, and empowering.

Understanding the Basic Emotions: Mad, Sad, and Scared

In session three, we explore the foundations of our core emotions: mad, sad, and
scared. Together, we challenge the idea that emotions are “good” or “bad,” “positive” or
“negative.” Instead, we view them as valuable messengers – signals that something in
our environment or within ourselves needs attention. By learning to listen to what these
emotions are trying to tell us, we can respond in ways that protect our well-being,
strengthen our boundaries, and guide us toward healthier choices. This session builds
the skills to honor your feelings, rather than judge or suppress them, turning emotional
awareness into a powerful tool for self-care and growth.

Boundaries & Non-Defensive Communication: Tools for Authentic Connection

Boundaries and non-defensive communication are two of the most powerful practices
for building emotional health and authentic relationships. In this workshop, we go
beyond buzzwords to uncover what boundaries truly mean, why they are essential for
protecting your energy, and how to implement them with confidence. You’ll also explore
the art of non-defensive communication—learning how to express yourself with clarity
and compassion, release the need to defend or justify, and create space for deeper
connection. Through practical strategies and discussion, you’ll leave with the tools to set
healthy boundaries, communicate with freedom, and strengthen the way you connect
with yourself and others.

The Cherry on Top: Cultivating Joy and Understanding Our Values

The final session of the workshop is all about creating a joyful world for ourselves – one
that aligns with who we truly are. Our ability to experience joy is deeply connected to
our core values, and in this closing session, we’ll explore how to live in harmony with
those values every day. We’ll come full circle, bringing together everything we’ve
learned to shape a mindset rooted in peace, purpose, and lasting fulfillment. By the end,
you’ll leave with a clear vision and the tools to cultivate a life that feels both deeply
satisfying and authentically yours.
